Abana is a herbal product manufactured by Himalaya. It is used for maintaining a good functioning of the heart. It is composed from such herb extracts as:

  1. Terminalia arjuna- its extract has shown effectiveness in improving cardiovascular health, especially of the left ventricle function. Additionally, it has shown effectiveness in improving cardiac function in people who have recently suffered traumas or heart tumors
  2. Ashwagandha or Withania Somnifera- it vitalizes and rejuvenates the body
  3. Badranj boya- a plant recommended for heart problems. It acts like a relaxant and reduces blood pressure.
  4. Tinospora Cordifolia- a plant which stimulates very well the immune system
  5. Emblica Officinalis- it is an energy booster
  6. Dashamoola- supports normal functioning of lungs and nervous system

Common use.

Abana is indicated for use in the following situations:

  1. if patients have a high level of fats in the blood or also called hyperlipemia
  2. for patients with mild to moderate hypertension
  3. beginning phases of atherosclerosis
  4. as an adjuvant medication in the treatment of angina with cardiac risk factors
  5. chronic angina
  6. cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disorders
  7. prophylaxis of infarct

Administration and dosage.

If not prescribed differently by your doctor, the recommended dose of Abana is 2 pills taken 1 hour prior to the meal time, preferably in the morning and other 2 pills taken 2 hours after the dinner, before going to sleep. The course should last for at least 2 months.

Precautions and warnings.

There are only few health conditions which could hinder the administration of Abana:

Side effects.

If taken as indicated Abana is safe and does not involve the appearance of side effects, with the exception of some individual health conditions. Drug interaction.

Missed dose.

If you forget to take one of your doses, it is not an issue. You can take it as soon as you remember about it. However, keep in mind that herbal products are effective only when they are taken systematically.
